2 things...

Hi everyone!! ::waves::

Yes I know it has been a while, but I have 2 major updates:

1) After much thought and consideration, I will no longer be continuing youtube videos. There are multiple reasons why, some which are personal. Thank you for respecting my privacy and decision to not continue with them and further comment on my decision.

2) My blog is  NOT dead!!! Though I did take some time away from blogging, I plan on returning in full force with detailed hair and beauty reviews, outfit of the days, hair of the day blogs and what you have come to expect from me. I am also hoping to give this blog a (much needed) face lift so stay tuned for the return in Early 2015!!

Thanks for all the support!

Mally Beauty Instant Impact Lipstick Duo

no flash

Mally Beauty lip products are some of my favorite products she makes! I was really excited to be able to try two of the new Instant Impact Lipsticks, available on QVC! They come in duos in the set I have: coral/nude and there is also another set with raspberry/rose which I really want.
So what makes these lipsticks special? This is what has to say:  "Lipstick is here to stay, and creating a formula that had visual and sensorial impact was the goal of this product. Instant Impact Lipstick's creamy, delicious formula boasts a very high pigment load but makes the lips look luscious, not dry. It gives a rich and luxurious color payoff with a shine and fullness that can only be found at Mally.

Who is it for: Any woman who wants gorgeous, luscious lips that look and feel moisturized.

Why is it different: Formulated with vitamin E, mango butter, and almond

oil, these Instant Impact Lipsticks feel comforting while nourishing your lips so they stay moisturized."

What do I think? I love how easy they are to apply, crayon type lipsticks are one of my favorite lipstick applicators. The colors are super, super pigmented and they are pretty long wearing. They did stay on quite a while before wearing away. If you are familiar with Mally's lip magnifiers, these are very similar except they don't need to be sharpened like that magnifiers do. I didn't find them to be drying on my lips, but I also do not think they are the most moisturizing of her lipstick formulas. But for the pigmentation and long wear of the color, I don't mind.  As far as colors are concerned- in the set I got, "Fierce Pinky Coral" is beautiful! I am glad this color is a lot more on the pink side and not so much coral- it is a beautiful Diane color: bright pink with cool blue undertones. Unfortunately I am just not a huge fan of the "Extreme Nude" shade in this set. I generally don't like nude lipsticks unless they have a good pink hue to them and this is more on the straight up classic nude side. I wound up giving this color to a friend who I know will love it.

The Curly Tee: My Hair's New BFF!

As many curly girls will tell you, terry cloth towels are our hair's enemy. Why? They roughen up the cuticle and can cause our hair to become frizzier, rougher and unmanageable. I have not used terry cloth towels on my hair now for years and it does make such a big difference! The Curly Tee Towel and Sleep Bonnet are made of 100% cotton jersey which will absorb water but not your hair products. Not only that, they will help your hair dry with significantly less frizz (vs a terry towel) in less time, whether you blow dry or air dry.

Tarte "Bon Voyage" Sephora Sweet Dreams Collector's Set Holiday 2014

More Tarte Holiday 2014! YAY! This is the Bon Voyage Collector's Set and Travel Bag exclusive to Sephora as part of the Sweet Dreams Collection!

The Tarte sets at Sephora are always so beautiful and super generous and this one is no exception. I love the Parisian theme.

This set has a little bit of everything however there is no mini Amazonian Clay powder blush like there have been in years past. Also different, is rather than a bunch of mini lip glosses we get a full size Lipsurgence Crayon and Lipsurgence Lip Gloss. I actually like this better and love the pinky nude shades of both items!

This is what you get in the set:
-16 Amazonian clay eye shadows in Palace Of Versaille, Moulin Rouge, I Think I Cannes, My Own Cotes De Rhone, Boudoir Noir, Fall In Louvre, Provence Upon A Time, Eiffel For You, Too Haute To Handle, Bastille In The Night, Chantilly Lace, Merci You Later, No Champagne, No Gain, Take On Bordeaux, French Riviera, C’est La Vie, Marseille The Word, Play Nice, On A Good Notre Dame, Le Cordon Bleu
-Deluxe lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara
- Limited-edition deluxe cheek stain in Muse (soft nude)
-LipSurgence lip gloss in Visionary (apricot)
- LipSurgence lip tint in Romantic (peachy nude)
-Deluxe maracuja oil
-Deluxe smooth operator Amazonian clay finishing powder
- Limited-edition collector’s travel bag

Just look at these gorgeous eyeshadows!!!! Such a romantic theme and honestly there is not one color in this palette I wouldn't reach for! This may be one of my favorite tarte eyeshadow palettes ever (for the record, the others are the be matternificent, coral crush & qvc holiday palette from 2012) There is a mix of mattes and sheens. They have nice and buildable pigment- you can make the shades sheer and soft or build them up to an extent, they blend together very well and when worn over an eyeshadow primer (I used the tarte CC eye primer stick) they didn't fade or crease until I washed my face at night. Check my video below for swatches with and without the flash of all these shadows.

Below is the first look I created with this palette. I used "Chantilly Lace" under the brow bone, "Palace of Versaille" on my lid, "Moulin Rouge" in my crease, "I think I Cannes" on my outer V and under lower liash line and "my own Cotes du Rhone" as a liner above the upper lashes.

Lights, Camera, Lashes is an award winning mascara by tarte. This formula leaves me with a natural, clump free lash that does not flake. For more drama I apply several coats. The Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder is a skin treatment and powder in one. It mattifies my skin while diffusing the look of pores. Amazonian Clay is a miracle ingredient from the Amazon that balances skin whether it is too oily or too dry! I have been using Maracuja Oil as the last step in my night time regimen since 2011. It leaves my skin soft and since using it I have been getting less breakouts! It also is nice in my hair.

For a more detailed, full review and a swatch picture slide show of the whole kit be sure to check out my video below:

Get Your Healthiest Hair Ever from The Inside- What Foods Are Best??

Healthy hair grows from the inside out. It doesn't matter what miracle oils, conditioners, butters, pomades, and treatments you put on your hair - without proper nutrition, they mean nothing for your hair. No, that doesn't mean you need to drop your current nutrition plan and go vegan or paleo...although those are totally viable options if you so choose. The idea here is that what you put into your body is what you get out of it. Without certain vitamins, minerals, and other elements, your hair and body cannot be in optimal condition and health.

Continue reading my article on HERE and find out what foods I suggest you be eating for your most healthy hair ever!

My Skincare Routine ~ September 2014

My skin care routine is very important to me. Our skin is our largest organ and we wear it every single day (just like our hair) and I want it to look the best it possibly can!  I have combination, acne prone skin that also gets shiny very easily.  For the past few months, I have perfected a routine that works extremely well for me featuring products from TATCHA and Proactiv+ as well as a few others.

I actually started using good moisturizers and eye creams since I was 13. I saw my mom always using them and I wanted to. Thanks mom. However, much to my regret now there was a year or two in my high school days that I LOVED tanning beds and tanning outside. BAD!! But  I didn't know better. At least it wasn't any longer than that but I know I have that past damage I have to deal with and work to correct. Every single day now, rain or shine, summer or winter I use SPF30 on my face now.

"Beauty Tool" wise I simply can't be without my clarisonic or NuFace. I use my clarisonic every single night to rid my face of makeup and environmental toxins that build up throughout the day. Seeing the brush head turn from white to makeup color at the end of my cleansing is extremely rewarding, as silly as that sounds. If there is a rare night I don't use it, my skin honestly doesn't feel as clean.

The NuFace Microcurrent face lift device has truly helped the tone and contour of my face. I use it between 3 and 5 days a week for 20 minutes, depending on my week.

Check out my video before for details about the products I use and order I order them below:
